The Tally-ho 3 Head Tracker (HT) is the next evolution in immersive flight. Built upon the legacy of our popular Tally-ho 2+, the V3 features a new board and firmware designed for modern digital FPV goggles. Whether you are looking at the runway to precisely position your plane in the traffic pattern or keeping a "bandit" in your sights during a high-stakes dogfight the Tally-ho 3 provides the realism and tactical edge you need.

Goggle Compatibility

The Tally-ho 3 requires a USB-C port for power. It includes a custom-contoured backplate for a seamless fit on the latest DJI goggles.

Note: For DJI Goggles V2, please select the "V2 Screw Mount Backplate" for secure hard-mounting via screws.  A "Flat Backplate" is available for DJI Goggles N3 and all other goggle brands.

Dual Connecting Modes with RC Transmitter: Wired vs. Wireless

Choose the setup that matches your flying style:

Wired Mode (Recommended for Combat): Connect via trainer cable for unparalleled smoothness and low-latency response. This is the gold standard when paired with the Motionsic BAG (Pan & Tilt Gimbal) for high-speed dogfighting.

Wireless Mode (Convenience): Compatible with FrSky Bluetooth-trainer-capable transmitters only. Enjoy total freedom of movement without a dangling cable. (Note: Slight latency may be noticeable during aggressive head movements compared to wired mode).

Universal Radio Compatibility

The Tally-ho 3 integrates seamlessly with almost any transmitter using the "Buddy Box" (Trainer) system. Simply setup your radio as the "Master" and the HT as the "Student," assigning the HT's PPM signal to your radio's gimbal channels (Default: Ch 7 & 8).

Simple Setup & Customization

Configuring your HT is straightforward with the open-source GUI V2.4.

1. Mount: Use the included Alien Tape or goggle head-strap screws depending on your backplate.
2. Calibrate: Use the Graphic User Interface to map channels and eliminate drift via magnetometer calibration.
3. Fly: Center your view and take to the skies.

This project is a proud collaboration with Medlin Drone and Cliff (dlktdr), utilizing the open-source head-tracker project. Case design is a remix of the Wireless Headtracker by DarKHawK (CC-Attribution).
